Most Cadet Corps have a band, and cadets are invited to perform at all kinds of events at home and abroad. The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps is no different. In addition to gaining the technical ability to play an instrument, music improves commitment, discipline and self-esteem.
Regardless of your choice of instrument, you are welcome to join whether you are advanced or a beginner. Once you have and once you have obtained a reasonable level, you will be able to participate in performances nationally and internationally.
Not only may you gain camaraderie and the opportunity to travel the world, but by following a structured syllabus, you can now gain the BTEC First Diploma in Music, equivalent to four GCSE at A*-C or four Scottish Standard Grades.
Without a doubt, the most spectacular is the band, marching to the recognizable beat of military music that attracts the attention of the young and old at heart, bringing together the various cultures that reside in the Cayman Islands. Their ability to march and play military music is matched by their versatile ability to transform into a concert band, a drum Corps, an ensemble and indeed soloist.
